In this role, you'll: Lead the Western Sealing crew and will be coordinating activities across road projects.
You will be responsible for coordinating the crew and the activities on the project, keeping the team moving safely and productively.
You will ensure the crew follows quality systems and employs safe methods of work, as well as:
Providing guidance and direction to team members in a non-trades environmentManaging routine problems that arise without supportInitiate daily toolbox meetings and pro-actively offer suggestions for improvementManaging multiple crews to ensure projects are completedProviding on-the-job training to team members in relevant procedures as requiredRun daily toolbox meetings ensuring safety, environmental and quality controls and procedures are implemented on siteTimely completion of scheduled maintenance activities and works in accordance with TfNSW specifications and operating proceduresAbout you We're seeking a proactive and organised leader with extended knowledge and experience in a civil construction environment who can provide strong leadership to bring out the best in their team.
You will be an excellent communicator with great negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
You will have proven ability to follow appropriate safe working procedures and resolve routine problems independently.
We are also looking for applicants who can build strong working relationships with external and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects.
You'll hold the following:
Valid White cardTraffic Control certificationValid Driver's licenceExperienced and knowledgeable working with spray sealing crews – highly desirableExperience operating at a Team Leader Grade 1 level or equivalent, and sound experience using internal reporting systems.
As this role supports a variety of work in regional NSW, travel will be required.
You will therefore be required to work outside normal working hours and travel to various regional and remote work locations away from home.
TfNSW takes WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously; therefore, to be eligible for this role, it is a requirement that you must reside within a 100 km distance from Dubbo depot.
