As a Team Leader - Production, your primary objective is to ensure that the overall organisational production, quality and safety objectives are met.
In this role, you drive change; supervise, support and motivate team members; and importantly, foster a cross functional, collaborative team environment with all Wacol plant stakeholders.
Additional duties include: Production OperationsConduct daily start-up meetings and team meetingsReport and deliver KPI'sMonitor and secure manning levels per station.Ensure that processes for each workstation are up to dateEnsure all parts shortages are controlled and reportedProduction PersonnelLead, motivate, encourage and manage performance of the production teamEnsure that training plans are actioned, and employee's skills meet required standardsParticipate in monthly performance evaluation sessions with employees, and escalate ongoing performance issues to the Production Manager as required.Monitor and manage team member performance and provide feedbackQualityInitiate investigations, action and monitor progress, promote and ensure Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of the cross functional teams is conducted within 24 hours to support continuous improvementSecure corrective actions for deviationsConduct audit quality checks and report to the team in a timely mannerReview, investigate and document unresolved faultsInitiate, facilitate and motivate the cross functional team members to review areas for improvementWork actively to reduce the number of Defects Per VehicleSupport, Promote and manage responsibilities in the Quick Response Quality Control SystemSafety and EnvironmentEnsure compliance with VGA's Environmental Policy and Workplace Health & Safety policies and practicesPromote a safety conscious way of workingPromote, monitor and ensure that all incidents and near misses are reported according to procedureWork cross functionally to investigate and promote safety improvement initiatives and are implemented to protect or minimise harm in the workplacePromote, monitor and ensure that teams are wearing relevant personal protective equipment ensuring compliance to policies and procedureEnsure all team members are working in a safe and effective manner compliant to the core values of Safety, Quality and Environmental careThis role is being offered on a permanent full time basis and an immediate start is available for the right candidate.
