Reporting to the Manager Governance & Corporate Strategy your duties will include, but are not limited to: Coordinate and oversee the effective and efficient functions and services of the Governance TeamOversee Council's information access process in accordance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act)Provide high-level secretariat support to Council, the Audit, Risk and Improvement (ARIC) and other council committeesProvide expert advice, guidance and training on governance, privacy and information access mattersDevelop and maintain an effective governance framework, policies and delegations to ensure compliance with NSW legislationQualifications, Skills & Experience Tertiary qualifications in Business, Business Law, Governance or related disciplineHigh level understanding of the following legislation:Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act)Government Information (Public Access) Regulation 2018Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PIPP Act)Local Government Act 1993Experience in processing formal GIPA applicationsExperience in developing and implementing policies and procedures in accordance with legislative requirementsLeadership experience with the ability to coordinate a small operational teamAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a teamExcellent organisational and time management skillsExceptional attention to detailProficiency in the use of personal computer applications, in particular the Microsoft suite of products (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint)Being able to successfully manage competing priorities and high volumes of work effectively within tight timeframes is a key requirement of this position, as is the ability to work with discretion and complete confidentiality.
