Located in the South-Eastern corner of Adelaide and just 10 minutes from the Central Business District, the City of Burnside covers 28 suburbs and has a residential population of over 45,000 people. We are seeking a capable, positive and task focused finance professional to join the Finance team in the position of Team Leader Financial Management.  Leading a small team, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive financial and management accounting service to all functional areas of Council, ensuring appropriate financial corporate policies, guidelines and procedures are maintained. The role provides 2IC leadership for the Finance & Risk Department, being the key point of contact when the Group Manager Finance and Risk is not available. You will have a relevant degree in accounting or business and have completed or be undertaking the CA or CPA program with previous accounting experience preferably in Local Government. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, have an ability to manage time efficiently, meet deadlines and have excellent communication skills to manage your team and liaise with stakeholders. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential with experience using Technology One will be an advantage. As a senior role, leadership and providing specialist advice are important as is the delivery of meaningful financial reports to the Executive, Leadership team and various committees. You will be required to undertake a National Police Check as part of the on-boarding process. This position is offered as a permanent, full-time basis classified at Level 8 under the City of Burnside Administration Employees Enterprise Agreement 2023.
