What role will you playWe are seeking a Team Leader, Financial Accounting to join our UniLodge & Essence team located at our Head Office in Brisbane CBD. You will have a key role within the Finance team - with a high level of autonomy and responsibility and need to deliver a consistent, accurate and high-quality service.

You will be responsible for a wide range of duties including the full financial control and operation of numerous properties across Australia and New Zealand, along with head office corporate accounting responsibilities. As Team Leader, you will provide ongoing mentoring and development to 3-4 direct reports. Some of your additional responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
Review of accounts for Australian and New Zealand properties, including P&L, Balance Sheet, GST recs, cash flow statements, analysis and commentaryThe financial opening of new properties and building relationships with new building owners and property staffPlay a key role in the preparation and review of annual budgets and forecasting for both corporate and client accountsProvide financial and operational reviews, process improvements and monthly/quarterly reporting to a range of stakeholdersCorporate accounting responsibilities including, but not limited to, GST, FBT, income tax, board pack reporting and analysisDebtors' management and arrears reviewAssist in the preparation of financial statements and be a key liaison with the external auditors for both the business and our building ownersLead and motivate staff, providing ongoing training and development to ensure team members can reach their potentialConduct career coaching sessions for all direct reportsWhat we're looking forCA/CPA Qualified Accountant with solid commercial experience (required)Experience must be evident in the following areas (essential):Multi-entity experience – preparation of accounts for multiple companies/branchesStrong variance analysis and analytical skillsProven experience in budgeting and forecastingMicrosoft Excel skills to include all formulasManagement and mentoring of junior staffProven experience in proactively identifying, suggesting and implementing system and process improvementsProperty management experience (desirable)Experience in Microsoft Business Central or BI360 Solver (desirable)Strong attention to detail & excellent verbal/written communication skillsSelf-motivated and proactive behaviours are a must with examples from work history.Willing to obtain a National Police Check (required)Unrestricted work rights in AustraliaWhat we can offer you:Amplify your potential, we offer a variety of opportunities for career progressionPersonal and professional development, through online and face to face training and coursesFocus on employee wellbeing to support mental, emotional, financial and physical health & wellbeing, including access to Employee Assistance ProgramsInclusive culture in a diverse, collaborative and fun team environmentVarious leave options including two weeks paid parental leave, study leave & much moreStrong focus on employee engagement – annual feedback surveys, and access to our community platform (Viva Engage)Performance recognition programs and rewards: 'On-The-Spot' Awards, Quarterly Awards, Annual Awards Night, Employee Milestone RewardsFlu Vaccinations – Company FundedGenerous referral bonus (up to $1,000 AUD/NZD)Access to Insider Rates at Essence Hotels and ApartmentsAre you ready to embark on a rewarding career?If you think this role is the right fit for you, we would love to hear from you.
