Position Purpose:

The Escaping Violence Payment (EVP) Team Leader is responsible for leading a team dedicated to supporting individuals impacted by intimate partner violence, specifically through the application and delivery of financial assistance packages.
The Opportunity:

• This position is Full-time and based in Cairns with regular travel required in Cape York communities
• Coordinate the daily operations of the EVP team, ensuring timely and compliant administration of EVP payments.
• Provide human resource support including recruitment and supervising a team of intake workers, caseworkers, community-wellbeing officers and support staff, promoting a supportive and inclusive team culture.
About You:

• Ability to be accountable and lead a team, have attention to detail and high ethical standards
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations and to support staff in managing complex cases.
• Ability to work under limited direction and make critical decisions relevant to operational needs.
• Resilient and empathetic, able to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
