About the Role We are looking for a Team Leader to directly lead and support both the Accoras You.nique team on the Gold Coast and the CPSP team at Yarrabilba.
About the Accoras Team Accoras has delivered mental health and wellbeing services to South-East Queensland children, young people, adults and families for 30 years, working towards our vision of 'good mental health for all'.
We are the lead agency of headspace Inala, and our centre is recognised nationally for our excellence and the outcomes we help young people to achieve.
headspace Inala provides early intervention health and wellbeing support to young people aged 12 to 25 years across four core streams (mental health, physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drug use and work/study).
What do each of these programs deliver?
You.nique FMHSS provides individual support to children and young people within the context of their family.
We meet with children, young people and their families at a time and place that suits them, working with the young person to address their mental health needs and helping their parents to understand and support better management of their child's mental health.
The support is free and 100% outreach to the relevant catchment area.
CPSP CPSP provides non-clinical community based mental health support to children 7-17 years with severe mental illness and reduced psychosocial functional capacity.
It does this by providing client-centred but family focused outreach interventions which are; age appropriate, focused on emotional resilience and skill building, and respond to both the mental illness and related psychosocial impairments.
Mental Health Clinical Care Coordination (MHCCC) is also delivered alongside the psychosocial intervention.
MHCCC allows for dual-care clinical mental health intervention designed to treat mental illness and build psychological and functional capacity, assisting individuals and their families.
The role holds oversight of:
You.nique all client service delivery including triage of new referrals, assessment, intervention, risk management, and closure, and will co-manage high need clients where required, including risk assessment and safety planning.
CPSP a team of practitioners to deliver the CPSP program, implementing the business unit plan, participating in steering group sessions, monitoring and reporting program data and performance and engaging with the external evaluators.
About you To succeed in this role you need to be highly motivated to perform, and be driven by core values consistent with the Accoras organisation and mission.
You are a leader capable of supporting and directing others who have management responsibilities.
You will have tertiary qualifications or above in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or a related allied health discipline and a minimum of two years' leadership experience, successfully leading a team and providing regular feedback and coaching.
Specifically, you will need to demonstrate the following requirements:
Clinical and Therapeutic Expertise Relevant experience in clinical or therapeutic roles with children and young people aged 0-18.
Strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health.
Skilled in completing holistic assessments and delivering interventions for children and young people presenting with mental health concerns.
Family and Community Support Experience working from a strengths-based framework and utilising a client-centered and family-focused approach.
Confidently work with family systems, providing advice and guidance on parenting strategies and age-appropriate development.
Demonstrated ability to engage in culturally sensitive practices with children, young people, and their families, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, and LGBTIQA+ communities.
Decision-Making and Problem-Solving Demonstrated skills in making appropriate decisions and solving problems, including in crisis situations and where client safety risks are involved.
Stakeholder and Community Engagement Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Proven ability to network, develop, and maintain effective relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
Familiar with the local service community or the ability to rapidly become familiar with it.
Administrative and Technical Proficiency High level of attention to detail and strong time management and organisational skills to manage competing priorities effectively.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Sound working knowledge of IT systems and processes to support effective operations.
Cultural Competency Experience providing culturally sensitive engagement and support, ensuring inclusivity in all aspects of client and staff interaction.
