Reporting to Drainage Supervisor, youwill plan and manage resources, plant and equipment required forsafe and successful delivery of storm water drainage works.What impact will you make?You lead by example and set high standards for your team tofollow.You are friendly, supportive and actively listen to theneeds of others.You enjoy working with people, can build strongrelationships and are open to the opinions of others.You set challenging but realistic goals, reflect and learnfrom experiences and problem solve to get the job done.You are passionate about leadership and developingcollaborative, achievement-based team practices as you knowthis is how you can best encourage people.You have a welcoming and respectful customer servicedisposition when dealing with both your internal and externalcustomers, our community.Ability to "think outside the box" and beflexible in the delivery of services to meet ourcommunity's evolving expectations.What can you bring to the team?Implementing and undertaking designated storm waterdrainage construction and maintenance programsManagement and control of the City's road anddrainage construction and maintenanceMaintaining a high level of customer serviceGuiding the work of a small team and providing on the jobtrainingMaintaining required quality standardsProviding leadership to ensure safety standards aremaintainedEnsuring the proper operation and security of materials,plant and equipmentTo be successful you will have:Two years of pipe laying, gully construction and operationof pumps experience on a drainage construction sitePrevious experience supervising employees and conductingpractical staff trainingThorough knowledge of drainage, road construction andmaintenance techniques, methods and quality controlprocedures.Understanding and interpreting drawings/plans andimplementing construction as per design.Good knowledge of the safe operation, working practices anduser maintenance of plant and equipment in a generalconstruction environment.Understanding of, and commitment to, the principles andpractices of Occupational Safety and Health and EqualOpportunity.Knowledge of materials and equipment estimating, budgetarypreparation and control, costing and administration.Understanding of contract management principles.Detailed knowledge of local government general proceduresand standards.Current certificate in Basic Worksite TrafficManagementExcavator and Vehicle Mounted Crane AccreditationCertificatesCurrent Senior First Aid CertificateCurrent unrestricted "HR" (Heavy Rigid) classnational driver's licenceCurrent Forklift operating licencePossession of, or progress towards, a Local GovernmentSupervisors Certificate (desirable)Completion of Year 10 Certificate (desirable)The finer detailsThis permanent fulltime OSE Level 4 position attracts a salaryrange of $70,252 to $72,759, gross per annum dependent onqualifications and experience and includes Commuter Use of aCouncil Vehicle.
