Be part of something more.A bit about the roleThe Team Leader Development Engineer role involves leading a small team responsible for managing the engineering development approvals process. You'll provide technical advice on major planning projects, oversee compliance with Council standards, and collaborate with developers and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality infrastructure outcomes. The position combines leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving, making it ideal for someone with strong engineering expertise and a passion for guiding a team to success.What you'll deliverEnsure timely and accurate processing of engineering development approvals in line with Council policies.Provide expert technical advice to support the design and delivery of roads, drainage, and path networks.Oversee engineering plans, ensuring they meet planning conditions and Council standards.Work closely with developers, consultants, and authorities to achieve the best infrastructure solutions.Mentor and guide the engineering team to enhance performance, skill development, and innovation.What you'll bringStrong knowledge of civil engineering, particularly in land subdivision, town planning, and infrastructure design.Experience in guiding and mentoring engineering teams to deliver successful infrastructure projects.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and solve complex engineering challenges.Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering with several years of subsequent relevant experience or higher formal qualifications with a shorter period of experience or lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience.A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude.Be part of something moreTake a look at our job opportunities and you may be surprised at what you discover: a future-focused culture, a sense of purpose and possibility, and real opportunities to strengthen our diverse community.
