About the Role & Client:
My Client, a well-regarded non-profit organization serving communities across the Northern Territory, is seeking a Team Leader for their Counselling, Children & Parenting, and Youth Enhanced Services. This role provides leadership, guidance, and direct support in delivering trauma-informed, culturally responsive services to children, youth, and families. Working under limited direction, the Team Leader manages a dedicated team to meet program goals and ensures high-quality service delivery.
About the service:
The Children and Parenting program offers early intervention and preventive services using a whole-family approach to support at-risk families. It provides evidence-based resources and activities to empower parents, guardians, and carers, enhancing their skills to foster healthy child development and well-being.
The Youth Enhanced Service (YES) supports young people at risk of, or experiencing, mental illness. It improves service access, focusing on recovery and long-term mental health. YES engages youth and their families through assessment, casework, specialist liaison, and community education to connect them with the most suitable local support options.
Key Responsibilities:

Direct Service Delivery:

Oversee triage, assessments, and allocation of participants for individual and group programs.
Provide evidence-based, trauma-informed support, particularly in complex cases.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

Guide and mentor staff to deliver best-practice services aligned with contractual and organizational standards.
Support team cohesion and professional growth through structured supervision and feedback.

Data Integrity & Compliance:

Ensure accurate data entry, conduct audits, and maintain compliance with program requirements.
Provide timely reporting and feedback to stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Build collaborative networks with government, community agencies, and Indigenous groups to enhance service delivery and client support.

HR & Recruitment:

Participate in staff recruitment, induction, and performance management, fostering a supportive and skilled team environment.

Benefits:

SCHADS Level 6 salary with superannuation and NFP salary packaging.
5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.

Skills & Requirements:

Qualifications: Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in social work, psychology, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 2 years in team leadership and relevant practice, with strong supervision and mentoring skills.
Cultural Competency: Experience working with Indigenous communities, demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for reporting, case management, and stakeholder engagement.
Compliance: Valid NT Driver's License, Ochre Card, and satisfactory criminal history check.
