About the role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead the efficient and safe management of operational planning, control, and coordination functions on Jemena Electricity Networks & Assets. In this dynamic 24x7 environment, your role will play a crucial part in ongoing improvements in performance and efficiency through the adoption of new technology and innovative work methods.
You will foster a continuous learning environment to support career development within the team, providing guidance and mentorship. This includes succession planning for the future and developing skills within the team to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the energy sector.
Key responsibilities will include: Collaborate within the Jemena Network for commercial success.Establish and maintaining technical operating standards.Continuously review and improve team processes and systems.Propel efficiency improvements through innovative technology and methods.Provide insights for strategic projects and change management.Uphold technical operating standards for safe Network & Asset operation.Ensure the Control Room team is trained and authorized.Oversee effective Network & Asset operation for reliability, security, quality, and regulatory compliance.About you: The ideal candidate should showcase experience in leading small teams, autonomy, decisive decision-making, and effective workload management in an operational setting. Essential attributes include strong personal integrity, ethical standards, interpersonal skills, customer service focus, and efficient time management and planning.
Furthermore, you should possess coaching and mentoring experience, adaptability to change, and effective leadership skills. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of electrical distribution network operations, procedures, and practices, as well as an understanding of related elements and activities.
Ideally you will have: Significant experience within, and understanding of electrical distribution networks.Proven experience in leading a small, dynamic team who work in a shift rostered environment.Expertise in Change Management, particularly in the introduction of new technology and innovative work methods.Demonstrated ability to maintain a firm, decisive manner, remaining calm and disciplined during emergency or abnormal events.Strong lateral thinking skills regarding operational matters, with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.Adaptability to embrace and introduce new technology within both field and Control Room environments.Drive accountability and performance to ensure the team's success.If you are a dynamic leader ready to make a significant impact in a challenging and rewarding environment, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
