About the role

As one of two leaders in Jemena's Electricity Control Room, you'll work closely with your colleague to oversee half of the team responsible for the safe and effective planning, control, and coordination of Networks & Assets in a 24/7 environment.
Together, you'll enhance safety, performance, and efficiency while integrating new technologies and methods.
Your focus will be on maintaining high technical standards and preparing the team for the evolving energy landscape, particularly in electricity and power distribution.
This role offers flexibility in working hours and a hybrid approach, balancing the demands of the control room.

Key Responsibilities include:

In collaboration with the other Team Leader, provide support and direction to the team, fostering a safe, positive, and productive work environment.
Ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of policies and systems to support operational excellence.
Oversee and manage compliance reporting to ensure all regulatory requirements are met and upheld.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are effectively managed.

About You

To set yourself up for success in Jemena, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working within the utilities industry, specifically electricity distribution networks.
Your background includes involvement in operational or technical roles, or additionally trade-based roles specializing in instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical.
You will ideally have knowledge in the operation of an electrical distribution network incorporating operating procedures and practices.
You will also have a high level of understanding of electrical Sub Transmission, High and Low Voltage distribution network elements.
This includes knowledge of construction, maintenance, and testing activities encompassing comprehension of technical drawings, manuals, and procedures.
Ideally, you will also have:

Advance Diploma of ESI – Power Systems (or equivalent) or appropriate experience.
Detailed understanding of electrical distribution network operating procedures and practices.
Detailed understanding of electrical distribution network elements, construction, maintenance, and testing activities, as well as an understanding of Sub transmission and distribution network protection and control schemes.
Significant experience in the operation of an electrical distribution network.
Experience supporting a dynamic team in a 24x7 rostered environment.
Sound management practices to achieve human resource objectives (e.g., training, team building).
Change Management including the introduction of new technology and 'ways of working.'
Project Management skills associated with ensuring compliance with operational processes.
Emergency/Fault management skills.
