We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Laws Team Leader.
Lead a dynamic and fast-paced team of front line officers that face different challenges every day.
Our Community Laws teams are an innovative group of professionals that strive to set new standards in animal management, community safety and amenity protection.
This rewarding role will require you to coordinate and provide positive leadership to the Community Laws team functions of the organisation in providing excellent service to residents, ratepayers and visitors to the City of Knox that preserves and enhances public health, safety and amenity.
We are seeking a leader with outstanding negotiation and communication skills, demonstrated experience in managing a team, skills in investigations, animal management, local law enforcement, bushfire hazard assessment and the capacity to manage a high workload.
This is a full time permanent Band 7 classified role based at the Knox Civic Centre.
Remuneration will be $107,507.54 - $120,572.47 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
The usual working hours for this role will be 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with an accrued day off every 4 weeks.
There will be a requirement to participate in an on call roster and may be a requirement for occasional overtime to meet operational needs.
A tool of trade vehicle is included.
What you will need to thriveThe key selection criteria for this role are:
Demonstrated experience in investigative and enforcement services within a similar role, and the ability to interpret and apply legislation and regulations.Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal, with strong emotional intelligence and the ability to gain cooperation.Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage a team and collaborate with colleagues in service delivery.Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deliver effective work processes and outcomes.Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement into work practices.Extensive experience in dealing with the community and customers in at times high conflict or complex incidents and resolving difficult situations.High level of computer literacy and the ability to learn new software packages relevant to Local Government.Understanding of law enforcement processes, including prosecutions and court hearings.How to applyPlease provide a resume, a brief cover letter, and address the 'what you need to thrive' section from the position description to outline how your experience and skills relate to the role.
