The Clinical Team Leader reports directly to the CEO.
INTRODUCTION This position description is intended to describe the position, its broad objectives, and how it fits within EASA, as well as detailing a list of duties. This position requires a clinician with experience in the field of counselling and psychological support who can support a team of clinicians and guide them to implement best practices in counselling.
It requires demonstrated team leadership skills with a focus on continuous improvement and the ability to work with the CEO to coordinate and direct the psychological services of EASA. This is a Team Leadership role that has the potential to develop into a Clinical Manager with the full support of the Leadership Team.
OBJECTIVE To coordinate and guide the Psychological Services team in the provision of counselling, trauma services, and other related mental health services.To work as part of the broader EASA leadership team to ensure EASA remains a leader in the provision of Psychological Services in the NT.To maintain a working professional relationship with all staff at EASA within and across services and administrative staff.RESPONSIBLE FOR Maintaining responsibility for all administrative aspects in the clinical space within EASA and direct (with the support of the CEO, Practice Manager, and Regional Manager) the coordination of a team of clinical employees and sessional staff who provide services in Darwin, Alice Springs, Coolalinga, Katherine, Nhulunbuy, Tennant Creek, and Jabiru, and where required.
GENERAL ROLE Provide leadership and coordination for the Psychological Services Team in the Darwin and Katherine region with support from the CEO and Regional Manager.Coordinate Psychological Services operations where EASA operates with the support from the Practice Manager.Ensure Supervision arrangements are continually in place for Psychological Services staff and maintain supervision in all offices as pre-arranged at induction by the Practice Manager.Respond, as appropriate, to any feedback forms and complaints by clients once received from the CEO.Provide a Psychological Services report for the Board monthly with the help of the administration team.Assist in maintaining compliance with the various NT government funded agreements for counselling services in the Northern Territory.Collaborate with the Regional Manager to consult with agencies and other professional and community groups to ensure:That EASA is up to date with the latest developments and that other organisations are aware of services provided by EASA.That a good personal knowledge of other treatment services is maintained so that the appropriate referrals are made.Travel throughout the Northern Territory and Australia as required for critical incident support, and other appropriate services.Assist in performance appraisals for Psychological Services staff with the CEO for the Darwin and Katherine region.Attend and contribute to weekly EASA Staff, Leadership Team, and Regional meetings.Assist the training of existing clinical staff with the CEO (clinical) and Practice Manager (administration).Review treatment plans and approve extension requests for the Darwin and Katherine region and with support from the CEO and Regional Manager where needed.Support the CEO to train existing employees in any new policies, procedures, or standards to be implemented across the entire organisation.Ensure the performance of the above duties is in accordance with EASA NT Inc. policies and procedures.OTHER DUTIES Network, attend relevant meetings, and engage in social aspects at times such as morning teas and staff celebrations and regular check-ins with the clinical staff (individual and group).Provide input for reports as required.Be available for risk queries by clinicians.Find opportunities for clinicians to have professional development in the form of in-house training in the Darwin and Katherine area.Supporting the recruitment and onboarding process of clinical staff with the support of the Practice Manager.Support the induction process by providing the psychological component guidelines around suicide risk, critical incident process, and going through resources such as the Counsellor Handbook.Meet regularly with the Regional Manager to discuss and introduce new developments and services to the wider clinical staff.Provide research on topics or services to assist in planning for EASA.Undertake special projects and other assignments as required.CASELOAD Manage a counselling caseload providing short-term counselling for individuals across a broad range of issues including alcohol and other drug misuse, work-related problems, relationship and family difficulties, grief, depression, anxiety, emotional stress, or other personal problems.A schedule like the below on a full-time basis will be expected but given support by the CEO, Practice Manager, and CEO:
Admin Days – 2 x day per week.Client Days (1 x day per week) would involve:
30-minute rest periods in between sessions.Only have 6 regular clients at commencement.Review monthly to assess capacity.ESSENTIAL Qualification in either psychology, social work, or counselling.Be fully registered with a recognised accreditation board.Take on a caseload of clients to keep updated with sessional work.Supervision – whether internally or externally.To be considered for the position, you will be required to provide evidence of:
