Details: The Children Youth and Families (CYF) Operations Team Leader roles are responsible for managing a team to deliver the best possible life outcomes for children and young people who are involved with either the child protection or youth justice systems in Canberra.
In each area of CYF, there are several team leaders who work under an Operations Manager and Senior Director to ensure staff members are fulfilling their roles in accordance with legislation, policy and procedures. The Team Leader role is critical to the support and supervision of staff in undertaking their duties. Team Leaders will manage teams and provide advice and support. They may be required to attend court, represent the Director General in a variety of situations, and assist in case management tasks including editing of documents for official and court purposes.
Eligibility/Other Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Science or related discipline. Please note: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who do not have these qualifications but who have appropriate and relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage and experience are eligible to apply. For Youth Justice positions, relevant qualification in Criminology or law may be considered. At least five years of practical experience working with children, youth and/or families in a social work/case management role, and/or experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities.
