About You
As a Children Services, Team Leader, you will:

work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in the effective delivery of support services to Westhaven Children and Young People (CYP) with a range of complex needs
partner with children and young people (CYP) diagnosed with a disability and/or complex behaviour needs to achieve their goals and to live life the way they choose
be responsible for ensuring the children and young people you support are receiving a high level of quality care with dignity and respect from a team of support workers you will lead, mentor and supervise

You will have:

A Diploma in Community Services, Children's Services or similar field; or identify as Aboriginal and be willing to work towards a relevant qualification
Knowledge and understanding of positive behaviour support practices / plans
A proactive approach to supporting individuals with disability
Proficient computer skills including the use of Client Management Databases and Google Suite (or similar)
Highly developed organisational skills and capacity to prioritise competing demands
Effective conflict resolution skills, negotiation, mediation and decision-making skills paired with exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to confidently apply de-escalation strategies in high conflict situations
Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, behaviours of concern and mental health concerns
Experience working with people with a disability, highly regarded
Experience working with children or youth in a care or education setting, highly regarded

Compliance requirements

Current NSW Driver's licence
Obtain and maintain a current paid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Obtain and maintain a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme Workers Check (NDISWC)
Willingness to provide consent to being listed on the Residential Care Worker Register (RCWR)
Willingness to undertake a pre-employment police check
Current First Aid and CPR Certification
