About the role Are you passionate about leading a team dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the leadership skills to inspire and guide a team providing high-quality therapeutic and case management support? We are seeking an experienced and committed Team Leader to join the Continuing Care Team (CCT) at headspace Early Psychosis. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring young people receive the support they need on their recovery journey.
This is a full-time opportunity, working five days per week, based on-site at headspace Canberra with some flexibility to work from home. You will manage a team of up to six direct reports, providing strong leadership and ensuring the delivery of exceptional, person-centred care.
As the Team Leader, you will oversee the delivery of care by a team of clinicians who provide therapeutic interventions, coordinate care, and connect young people with external services to support their recovery goals. You will guide the team in working collaboratively with young people to develop tailored treatment plans and maintain a high standard of care. By conducting regular reviews and fostering a culture of excellence, you will ensure the team delivers effective, person-centred support that adapts to the evolving needs of each young person.
Opportunity to be a part of the setup and implementation of a new headspace Early Psychosis in Canberra. About the program headspace Early Psychosis is a youth mental health service offering free and confidential support for young people and their families who are experiencing an early episode of psychosis or are at risk of developing psychosis. Qualifications Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, and provisional or full membership with AHPRA or an appropriate professional body.
Desirable: Qualifications in leadership and/or management.
About you in the role As a Team Leader for the Continuing Care Team (CCT), your day-to-day responsibility will include:
Providing clinical leadership to ensure that therapeutic interventions and case management delivered by the team meet high standards of quality and effectiveness.Supervising and supporting clinicians to develop tailored recovery plans for young people, ensuring their needs, goals, and circumstances are thoroughly understood and addressed.Overseeing coordination of care, ensuring clinicians link young people and their families to appropriate external services that support their recovery journey.Monitoring team performance and providing guidance on best practices for therapeutic interventions and case management.Collaborating with stakeholders, including families, external service providers, and internal teams, to ensure holistic and effective care for young people.Conducting regular case reviews and assisting clinicians in adapting treatment plans as required to align with the young person's evolving needs.Managing operational workflows to ensure referrals, transitions, demand, and ongoing care are delivered efficiently and in a timely manner.Fostering a positive team culture, promoting collaboration, professional development, and staff well-being.Reviewing and refining processes to improve service delivery and ensure alignment with evidence-based practices and organisational goals.Applying strong risk assessment and management skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Ensuring integration and collaboration between headspace Early Psychosis and headspace Canberra/Tuggeranong centre managers to ensure alignment of governance and clinical activities.Experience in reporting and data collection in line with clinical best practice.Benefits & culture As an organisation, we celebrate our diversity and welcome all people regardless of ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
