Ongoing, full-time position Salary range: $117,718 to $128,897 per annum plus superannuation 242 Exhibition Street Melbourne office location Position overview An exciting opportunity that will suit a Building Audit expert who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The Team Leader, Building Audits is responsible and accountable for the day-to-day delivery of desktop audits of building approval documentation, as well as undertaking other specific business performance and improvement roles.
The position measures and monitors the quality and compliance of building practitioner work across Victoria relating to adherence with the Building Act, Regulations, and National Construction Code.
The role will proactively identify systemic risks and make recommendations for active intervention measures to strengthen the regulatory system and support the VBA's effectiveness as a contemporary Regulator.
The Team Leader, Building Audits provides expert technical knowledge and guidance to assure the integrity and quality assurance of the VBA's building audit programs.
In conjunction with the Manager, Building Compliance, the role will ensure the operational function is being carried out with technical accuracy.
What we are looking for: Extensive experience working as a building surveyor assessing building work for compliance and issuing building approvals.Demonstrate knowledge of the building industry regulatory framework, regulations, and standards in Victoria and/or other Australian jurisdictions.Experience with building team commitment, to translate organisational strategy into meaningful long-term plans for your team, provide objectives for the area of responsibility, and able to motivate others to deliver against goals.Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information, understand requirements, and negotiate outcomes to address issues.Demonstrate problem-solving skills with the ability to research and analyse information, draw sound inferences that provide workable solutions to problems.Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying and current registration as a Building Surveyor in Victoria or another Australian jurisdiction.Working at the VBA - what you can expect: To be part of a passionate, supportive, and motivated team.An amazing employee engagement program, career development, and flexible hybrid work arrangements for greater work-life balance.The opportunity to use your knowledge and skills within a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation.VBA Commitment: We value diversity and inclusion in all forms - gender, religion, ethnicity, LGBTIQ+, disability, and neurodiversity.
