What will you be doing? Reporting to the Group Accounting Manager, this is a hands on role responsible for the Transactional Accounting and Accounts Payable functions, supporting Codan's global operations.
This role is focused on ensuring that all daily and monthly transactions are processed accurately and efficiently, with streamlined workflows that drive operational excellence.
As a key member of the team, your responsibilities include: Foster a supportive environment and enhance the capabilities of the finance team to optimise transactional finance processes. Develop standard operating practices and processes and ensure adherence. Identify and realise opportunities to drive continuous improvement in the transactional accounting and accounts payable areas to better support a global Codan. Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of AP automation process to enhance efficiency, reduce manual errors, and streamline invoice and payment workflows. Group cashflow and loans reporting, administration and forecasting. Oversee and perform the daily, month-end and year-end transactional accounting tasks (banks and cash accounting, reconciliations, journals, intercompany relationship etc.
). Manage the credit card claim system. Monitor the flow and distribution of the Finance inbox and assist with answering queries and requests. Assist with the half-year and year-end statutory accounts reporting process and audit. Assist with the corporate budget process. Support the tax team and assist with tax compliance tasks as required. What makes a successful Team Leader - Assistant Accountant? To succeed in this newly created role, you will ideally hold tertiary qualifications in finance or a related commercial field, have advanced Excel skills and experience in SAP (desirable), along with proven experience and excellent track record in transactional finance field and supervisory role.
Your background includes identifying and leading initiatives for continuous improvement, enhancing efficiency, reducing manual errors, and streamlining workflows.
High-level communication skills are essential, as you will collaborate with various stakeholders to drive these improvements and ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
