The role In support of Suncare's delivery of the Single Assessment System, we have a newly created opportunity for a Team Leader - Assessment Services. You will enjoy combining your passion for team leadership and supporting aged customers, as you oversee and manage the effective delivery of assessments within the aged care services framework, ensuring high-quality, person-centred assessments are provided to support individualised care planning. You will guide a team of assessment professionals, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organisational standards and drive operational excellence in assessment processes.
The role is offered as permanent, full-time opportunity (Monday to Friday) and some travel in Brisbane will be required in meeting with your assessment team members, customers and stakeholders.
More about the role Reporting to the Operations Manager – Assessment and Clinical Services, your duties include:
Manage daily operations of assessment teams ensuring smooth delivery of assessments within contractual timelines. Monitor team performance through key metrics like assessment allocation rates, data accuracy, and customer feedback. Ensure compliance with best practice guidelines, regulatory requirements and Support at Home model, and accurate data input into relevant systems. Provide oversight and guidance on complex cases to support care planning and recommendations. Serve as a primary point of contact for escalated issues related to assessments, resolving concerns from customers, delegates and external stakeholders promptly. Maintain an assessment caseload to stay engaged with frontline service delivery and support team capacity. Actively support and participate in clinical supervision, team meetings and individual catchups and provide guidance and direction to team members to ensure effective performance, safety, and compliance with standards. Foster a respectful and responsive workplace culture aligned with Suncare's values as you lead assessment teams with emphasis on quality, continuous improvement, employee retention, development, and high performance. What you will bring to our team In addition to leadership experience and customer service ethos, you will possess a positive attitude for working in the aged care industry. You will also bring to our team:
Tertiary qualification in a health-related discipline. Current unrestricted AHPRA registration or part of, or eligible to be part of, a relevant professional association. Demonstrated leadership skills and practices for the effective leadership of a multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to apply continuous quality improvement principles in service development. High level customer service skills and ability to form positive relationships with community members and stakeholders. Willingness to use own vehicle for work purposes, ensuring vehicle is appropriately registered and insured. Advantageous is current experience as a clinical Aged Care Assessor and high-level industry knowledge including government funding, guidelines, and legislation.
