Are you an experienced community development team leader passionate about delivering impactful community-driven initiatives in your region with diverse partners? Join Australian Business Volunteers as our newly created Team Leader – Program Coordinator and drive an intersectional approach to improve disaster resilience and health in the three year Resilient Care program. The role reports to the ABV Head of Australia Operations, with Country to Coast Queensland Program Lead as the key stakeholder.
About the Role As Team Leader – Program Coordinator, you will oversee and manage the ABV components of the Resilient Care program, in partnership with Country to Coast Queensland. You will have a dual role to coordinate the Resilient Care program activities in the Fraser Coast LGA and provide project management support for Coordinators in Rockhampton/Livingstone and Gladstone/Bundaberg LGAs, combining strategic oversight and operational coordination.
Partnership and Team Management: Provide training, leadership and support to program staff and ensure effective collaboration with CCQ field team members.Establish and maintain productive relationships with CCQ Primary Care Coordinators, Healthy Ageing Coordinators and Program Managers.Program Management: Work with the Head of Operations (Australia), the Operations and Impact Teams to lead the design, planning, and execution of the program, with oversight of timeframes, financials, risk plan, MEL framework, reporting requirements, etc. as well as processes, policies, and documentation requirements, reporting to CCQ Program Lead where required.Prepare detailed and accurate reports on program progress, outcomes, financials, and any challenges encountered. Ensure these reports are submitted to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.Stakeholder Engagement Act as the liaison between Resilient Care program leadership and local stakeholders, ensuring clear communication regarding program progress, challenges, and outcomes.Scope needs and opportunities of groups and businesses within the identified communities, and, as appropriate, make the offer of support.Brief community partners, aligning expectations of community partners and volunteers around the support to be provided.Develop and maintain new partnerships to expand the program's impact and sustainability, ensuring long-term community resilience.Program Delivery: Support the Program Facilitators in the facilitation of meetings, workshops, presentations and other engagement activities and encourage active participation.Identify emerging needs of community and opportunities to support locally driven priorities in alignment with program goals.Support design and implementation of identified community projects, providing capacity building where required.Connect communities with skilled volunteers, services, and funding opportunities.Communications and Development Support communications activities as required, including the development of a communications plan, case studies and collection of data, photos, and other collateral for ABV and partner communications.Identify and communicate opportunities for continual improvement and constructively work with the ABV team to develop solutions and implement.About You You are a well-connected team leader with a deep understanding of community-driven initiatives and disaster resilience in the Wide Bay and Central Queensland regions and a passion for establishing local networks and knowledge. Your qualifications and experience include:
Formal qualifications or equivalent experience in a relevant field e.g., community or international development, social work, project management, sustainability and business administration, or similar.5+ years' experience in program management or senior project coordination, with a strong understanding of community-driven initiatives and disaster resilience.Experience in staff management, mentoring teams, conducting performance appraisals, and fostering a collaborative team environment.Established local networks and knowledge across economic, social, and professional sectors in the Fraser Coast LGA.Strategic stakeholder management experience, including building and sustaining partnerships with government, business, NGOs, and other key organisations.Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, present complex ideas, and facilitate consensus-building discussions.Strong organisational and time management skills, with experience balancing multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines, and troubleshooting complex issues.Demonstrated skills and experience in place-based community development work, including community engagement, mediation, facilitation and/or advocacy.Sound level of business financials, including budgeting, revenue, and costs.Ability to work autonomously and in a team, with flexibility for out-of-hours work and travel.Desired requirements Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and approaches.Demonstrated knowledge & commitment to principles of health equity and place-based community development frameworks.Understanding of the Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements.Mandatory Satisfactory National Police Check.Hold a QLD Working with Children Check Blue Card or willing to obtain.Significant travel within the role's allocated region is required for this role.
