Career Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive school in Leeds. This is a full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will be working closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, providing essential support to help them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities: Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of students with special educational needs (SEN). Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them with their academic, social, and emotional development. Implement and monitor individualised education plans (IEPs) and support strategies. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Assist with classroom management and behaviour support. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students. Support students with personal care needs, if required. Requirements: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable. A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Relevant qualifications or training in special education or teaching assistance.
