About the Role: Teach a range of units across course/s.
Plan, develop, assess and evaluate teaching programs and resources.
Carry out work Education administrative and other non-teaching programs and resources.
Maintain Records.
Provide students with a positive learning environment where any issues affecting the student are addressed promptly and in a constructive way.
Provide support and a collaborative environment as part of the Work Education team Duties: Teach in a range of subjects and programs within the Department, generally and specifically teach/ core and electives across all courses.
Select, develop, deliver and modify appropriate teaching, learning and assessment materials including computer applications, E-Learning resources, Moodle for; Certificate I in Work Education Certificate II in Work Education Certificate I in Transition Education Certificate I in Initial Adult Literacy & Numeracy Certificate I in Food Processing Short courses and additional curriculum courses in the future for this cohort Work with Lead Teachers, Program Leaders and Managers to set and achieve teaching objectives.

Skills and Experience Required: A Degree, Diploma or certificates in both content and academic level and industry experience relevant to teaching in the Special Education field specifically theories, methods and practices in teaching learners with permanent cognitive impairment / intellectual disability.
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) including Design and Develop Assessment Tools (TAEASS502) and Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills (TAELLLN4111) or (TAELLN401A).
Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles, teaching methodologies and a demonstrated high standard of teaching practice; and a commitment to learner-centred teaching for people with a permanent cognitive and or intellectual disability.
Well-developed teaching skills in special education which demonstrates the ability to select and use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to diverse needs of the students' together with demonstrated effective student management skills for specialist areas such as literacy and numeracy and career education.
Proven capacity to plan, schedule and meet agreed deadlines in the completion of duties and to work both productively, individually and within a team and to have the capacity to liaise with the Manager regarding student and case management issues.
Ability to co-operate in a team environment and, where necessary, work effectively with minimum supervision.
Demonstrated capacity to initiate and implement change and innovation in response to emerging needs and priorities in the department environment.
Demonstrate capacity to network, explore and develop partnerships to increase student engagement and opportunities during and post studies.
Excellent use of ICT skills to produce work for learners, to assist with e-learning and to report across a range of programs.
Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Anti- Discrimination, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement.
Current Working with Children Check (Employee) – mandatory.
Current National Police Check – mandatory.
