Salary: Teacher, $82,317 - $119,246 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)
This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency Karratha Senior High School (SHS), located in the City of Karratha, is an integral part of the community, providing a high-quality education for all students. The successful applicant should show the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school Visual Arts curriculum. The ability to confidently teach in one or more areas of the Arts is desirable. In the role of Visual Arts teacher, you will deliver programs tailored to the diverse needs of all students, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment where every student is empowered to reach their full potential.
As part of this role, you will engage and build positive and productive relationships with students and be involved collaboratively with colleagues, showing capacity to plan and implement effective teaching strategies. You will demonstrate excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and be committed to implementing the school's Agreed Good Teaching, our whole school approaches, explicit teaching, and instructional strategies.
With effective interpersonal skills, strong curriculum knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching Visual Arts, the successful applicant will work closely with students, colleagues, and the wider community to achieve the best educational outcomes for all students. You will be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and be a collegial, effective collaborator.
The successful applicant will join the supportive and enthusiastic Art department of Karratha SHS, work with other art teachers, and have opportunities to be involved in many art events and projects that are part of Art teachers' practice at KSHS, such as Arts Showcase, school productions, Art Club, art excursions and incursions.
