Position Information
Westfields Sports High School (1450 students, including 71 Aboriginal enrolments and 67% of the students from language backgrounds other than English) includes a special intake of talented sportspersons. The school is committed to providing each student with the educational opportunities and quality resources essential for the achievement of personal excellence in scholarship, citizenship, sport and the arts. The school values innovative curriculum programs, differentiated learning, the creative implementation of technology in teaching and learning as well as accelerated programs for talented students. In 2025 Westfields Sports will open a 3 class support unit catering for students with Autism.
Selection Criteria
Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Autism.
Quality classroom practice and highly developed management skills which enhance student engagement through enrichment, differentiated and individualised learning programs.
Ability to be a positive member of the Diverse Learning Faculty as well as an effective team member of the school.
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated capacity to build positive relationships with staff, students, parents/carers and external stakeholders.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
