Base salary ranges from $85,000.00 to $129,948.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation.Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.Position InformationKelso High Campus forms an innovative college structure with Bathurst High Campus as part of the Denison College of Secondary Education.Kelso High Campus is a comprehensive secondary school with an enrolment of 850 students, including 148 Aboriginal students and a Support Unit meeting the needs of 72 students across 9 classes.Kelso High Campus has three identified strategic directions : Growth and Attainment, Rigour and High Expectations, and Partnerships and Collaboration.There is an emphasis on a deep and shared understanding of the individual needs and backgrounds of students and families, supported by positive relationships and teaching and learning that is aligned to student learning data and is responsive to student needs.We are committed to building a strong learning culture based on high expectations within an inclusive and supportive environment.High quality, explicit teaching supports our students to build strong foundations and be proud and successful learners.Selection CriteriaApproval to teach Special Education and / or demonstrated experience teaching students with Autism (AU), intellectual disabilities, and those who have social, economic, and emotional disadvantages.Evidence of quality classroom practice and effective classroom management skills which promote high expectations.Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate quality individual personalized learning support and behaviour plans to facilitate improved student learning outcomes.Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the capacity to effectively communicate across all key stakeholders within the school context.Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies and a demonstrated willingness to enhance the wellbeing, engagement, and attainment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.ConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
