Details of the offer

Teacher - Secondary - Multiple Opportunities - Queensland Pathways State College - Mount Isa Campus Teach Queensland (Organisation site)
Queensland Pathways State College - Mount Isa Campus, North Queensland Region
Queensland Pathways State College is a state high school that specializes in supporting young people aged 15 to 18 (minimum grade 10) who have significant barriers to attending mainstream education, ensuring all students can succeed. In 2024, QPSC has 7 current campuses – Bracken Ridge, Bundamba, Goodna, Inner City, Mt Gravatt, Townsville, and Toowoomba. Towards the end of 2024, we will be opening one new campus in Mount Isa. We are looking to recruit highly motivated experienced teachers to join our new campus who can make a genuine difference to the lives of our students. Multiple opportunities are available at Queensland Pathways State College - Mount Isa Campus for beginning, early career, and experienced teachers looking to join a welcoming and supportive team environment.
QPSC delivers a 12-month senior transitions program to vulnerable students who still want to complete their senior studies but have found it difficult to succeed in mainstream schooling. Many of our students have experienced anxiety, depression, homelessness, or trauma. By developing a safe and supportive environment, these students can achieve their goals and positively move onto pathways in further learning (TAFE or university) or employment.
Our curriculum delivery has a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, workplace skills, and wellbeing. Our positive teaching approach creates a respectful, trusting, and calm environment. Students can still achieve a QCE; however, we look at alternative pathways into tertiary studies. Teaching staff will be upskilled in all areas of curriculum delivery. All curriculum is written and resourced from teams across the whole college. Although a small site, it has the strength of a large school supporting the learning needs of all students.
All teachers are trained and supported to deliver the suite of curriculum delivered across the school. Therefore, it is not essential to have a specific specialized subject area, just to have a passion for engaging students and unlocking their potential.
Your Role as Teacher
