About the role The successful applicant will teach secondary students in a multi-age secondary engagement class, Years 7 to 10. Applicants will ideally have personal qualities that nurture student well-being and engage students in developing skills across learning areas. Ideally the successful applicant will be able to draw upon experience devising engaging programs and may be able to deliver some ASDAN programs.
We are seeking teachers who can combine this role with a specialist curriculum area in the primary school. Applicants should be well organised and creative with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and staff. Experience in similar contexts or in delivering successful engagement programs would be relevant. A desire to engage with Aboriginal people as well as experience with students in engagement programs will be highly regarded.

The location and community Mount Magnet is one of the Mid West region's original gold mining towns, and the longest surviving gold mining settlement in Western Australia. Surrounding the town are remnants of old gold mining operations, and to the north east are significant Aboriginal sites being preserved jointly by the local community and the Western Australian Museum.
