Teacher Science - Yanco Agricultural High SchoolYanco Agricultural High School is a selective, co-educational, fully residential school with a projected 2025 student enrolment of 340 students who reside across all of New South Wales and in some cases interstate. Located in the New South Wales Riverina, 12 kilometres from Leeton, the school has 280 hectares, including 180 hectares of intensive irrigation and dry land agriculture and is bordered by the Murrumbidgee River. On the school grounds, students have access to tennis courts, a gymnasium, swimming pool, 10 hectares of sporting ovals, after-hours library and resource centre, as well as a host of individual and team activities at school and in the local community. The school has outstanding agricultural facilities and is a leader in agricultural education. Programs include show stock teams in sheep, beef cattle, equine and poultry who travel extensively and provide additional opportunities for students to excel in this area of interest. The school has a diverse range of staff who support both the day and residential component of the school. The Strategic Improvement Plan identifies a focus on improving literacy and numeracy skills, HSC achievement, student wellbeing, excellence in Agriculture, and enhancing staff collaboration and professional learning. Teaching staff are required to be part of a residential supervision roster, in which an additional allowance is paid.
