Salary: Teacher, $78,397 - $113,568 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021)
This is for a 12 month fixed term full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 Hedland Senior High School (SHS), located in the Pilbara, is an Independent Public-School catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12. The Rise Up program established in 2022, forms a part of the BHP Pilbara Education Partnership. The Rise Up program is based on a whole-school framework centred on encouraging all students at HSHS to 'rise up' to individual improvement including attendance, academic achievement, leadership, mentoring or community engagement.
This outstanding program promotes student achievement and wellbeing by providing all students across Years 7 to 12 extended opportunities to celebrate success.
The Rise Up teacher works alongside students to develop targets for improvement and co-designs plans to assist students to meet them. The Rise Up teacher works with internal and external stakeholders to provide a range of learning opportunities to support small group learning. Through this work, students improve their mastery, generosity, independence, and sense of belonging, enhancing overall wellbeing. The Rise Up teacher works with the Student Leadership team, leads whole school assemblies and enhances opportunities for student voice. The Rise Up teacher also supports students in their leadership growth and development.
Improving student attendance, academic achievement, and community engagement ensures students are better prepared to obtain employment, aligning to BHP key focus area  'Future of Work - enhancing human capability by contributing to the education, empowerment, and upskilling of people and systems, to be successful in obtaining employment now and into the future'.
