Salary: Teacher, $82,317 - $119,246 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)
This is a thirty-six (36) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025. Located in the Central Kimberley Region between Broome and Kununurra, most students come from the town of Halls Creek and the communities of Mardiwa Loop and Nicholson Block.
A few students commute from several family communities within 20 km of Halls Creek, Koongie Park Station (20 km) and Lamboo Station (40 km).

Halls Creek DHS has an enrolment of approximately 320 students across the Kindergarten to Year 12 campus, with a 98% Aboriginal enrolment.
Located in the beautiful East Kimberley Region, we are part of the Kimberley Schools Project, and are committed to attracting, recruiting, and coaching teachers to master explicit teaching pedagogy.
The Location and Community Schools in the Remote Teaching Service are located in some of the most isolated parts of the state.
They may be in community settings or small towns, and the majority of students are from local Aboriginal families.
They deliver flexible and innovative education programs to ensure students in remote areas have access to high quality learning programs.

Skills and interests in literacy, numeracy, and English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) are highly valued.
As a Primary Educator, you will ideally possess the capacity to provide a learning environment that is caring, engaging, and differentiated to cater for a range of learning needs including the specific needs of students who are learning English as an Additional Language.
The successful applicant should also have a good understanding of, and ability to deliver, the Western Australian Primary Curriculum.
An understanding of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework is also highly regarded, as is the ability to apply current evidence-based research to classroom practice.
We are seeking teachers who have strong classroom management and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) skills to successfully engage students in their learning.
The successful applicant will ideally be able to express their respect for and value Aboriginal culture and connection to Country, the histories, and experiences of Aboriginal people, and see your students' culture as a strength.
You should be committed to ongoing self-reflection, expanding your knowledge, and improving practices through working collaboratively with your colleagues and the community.
