Mercy Catholic College Chatswood is seeking to appoint and energetic and highly skilled Teacher of Physics and Junior Science for a permanent full time role commencing in 2025.

About the School Mercy Catholic College, Chatswood is a systemic girls secondary school on the Lower North Shore of Sydney.
The school was established in 1890 by the Sisters of Mercy.
The first lay Principal was appointed in 1989.
The enrolment of the college is 730 students.
The college aims to educate students to be strong Catholic women, ready and able to take an active role in society.
It values the role of the individual (students, staff, parents) within the community, and attempts to encourage the understanding that rights must be balanced by responsibilities.

Specific Criteria Be a highly effective, skilled classroom practicioner with experience teaching Junior Science and Physics Support the vision, purpose and values of Catholic Schools Broken Bay and the strategic priorities of the College Embed innovative pedagogical practices including digital technology Differentiate the curriculum to meet diverse student learning Effectively manage and facilitate safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive student welfare practices Be able to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic professional learning community Have highly developed interpersonal, presentation and communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with staff, students, parents/carers and community members Be willing to contribute to the broader extracurricular endeavours of school life as an active member of the school community Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4 year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.

New position on COVID-19 vaccinations Given the current management of risks associated with COVID-19 in the community, and the gradual wind-back of some settings, CSBB has decided to no longer require all staff to be fully vaccinated, effective 19 September 2022.
Staff who are not vaccinated will be required to wear masks when working with children at greater risk of serious illness owing to a medical condition and/or physical disability.
