This opportunity is part time 3 days per week until December 2025.The Teacher – Mental Health and Mental Health Peer Work provides high quality and innovative course materials and excellent teaching delivery to Box Hill Institute students to:Support student success in Mental Health coursesProvide a positive learning environment; andEnsure BHI compliance requirements are met.The Teacher – Mental Health and Mental Health Peer Work is one of several positions in the Faculty of Health, Community and Animals.
The position reports to the Coordinators of Community Service Programs and is responsible for liaising with students, employers, relevant industry groups, service providers, overseas partners and employees of the Box Hill Institute at all levels.About You:Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122)Undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in Mental Health and Mental Health Peer Work, or other transferrable accreditation or studyCurrent and sound experience working in mental health and mental health peer workSound understanding of learning theories, including adult learning theory and post-modernist theory and ability to apply these in various settings Demonstrated ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards, including course materials, unit plans and assessment toolsExperience in student management systems for attendance tracking, retrieval of student details where required and resultingActive listening and problem solving with a commitment to professional communications, excellent customer service and continuous improvementDemonstrated high level awareness of, and responsiveness to, people from a broad range of diverse backgrounds and emotional contextsAbout Us: We are proud to be a leading education provider with a strong reputation for delivering high quality educational outcomes.Our organisation comprises of Box Hill Institute (Box Hill & Lilydale locations) and Centre for Adult Education (Melbourne CBD) as well as partnerships across various external sites in Victoria.We are committed to a highly motivated and aligned workforce, so we'll be by your side to enable you, help you grow, and offer you benefits which enhance your work life balance.Box Hill Institute is a welcoming, safe and respectful work environment.
