Salary: Teacher, $82,317 - $119,246 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021)
This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2025 Piara Waters Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Mathematics Teacher to join their foundation team.
Piara Waters SHS is situated in the beautifully landscaped suburb of Piara Waters, approximately 25kms south of Perth. The school is surrounded by luscious greenery and will form part of the vibrant, multicultural community of Piara Waters. The school commenced with Year 7 students in 2023, adding each year to its growing cohort, until it reaches Year 12 in 2028.
We are looking for a teacher who models excellence in teaching, evidence-based planning, and effective instructional practice to support the learning needs of all students. They will ideally set high standards whilst delivering a rigorous curriculum which is both challenging and rewarding. Programs will be relevant and link to 'real' world experiences with a focus on providing deep learning. The successful applicant should be data literate and possess effective classroom management skills. They should be motivated to work in a team environment and support the development of a positive culture. As a foundation school, the flexibility and ability to teach in other areas is highly desirable. Teachers who are GERRIC trained are encouraged to apply.
The successful applicant should work collaboratively with all staff and the broader school community to create the conditions where high expectations and high-quality teaching thrive. They will support the development of positive social relationships and utilise the flexible learning spaces within our learning environment to personalise learning for students thereby creating an environment which fosters curiosity, enhances creativity, and engenders critical thinking.
Working in collaboration with other staff, the successful applicant will ideally have a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum – including knowledge of how to plan, deliver and assess engaging and relevant units of work relating to Mathematics and Science.
