This is a 12-month fixed term, part-time 0.4 FTE position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency.

The Role
Our school is seeking to recruit a Specialist Teacher in Languages – Japanese. Specialist teachers in our school work as a collaborative team, providing rich opportunities to transfer cross curricula skills, as well as ignite a love for learning in a range of curriculum areas. Our specialist teachers are experts in classroom management, intentionally creating structures required for effective instructional routines within their specific learning context.
Our Japanese program is located in a classroom within our specialist block, with a sanctioned learning space where the cultural aspects of the program can be embraced. With ample access to kitchen facilities and an outdoor learning space, rich cultural experiences can be achieved.
Across our school, we provide teachers with clarity of expectations, through an annual Playbook. This Playbook outlines our whole school approaches, including:
PR1ME Mathematics Literacy Blocks (including Promoting Literacy Development; Heggerty PA; Fluency Pairs and Daily Reviews) Positive Learning Environments (including Berry Street Education Model; the Adam Road Code; RYPPLE Effective Teaching and Learning Practices) Social Emotional Learning – You Can Do It.
