Y Schools Queensland Junior Redlands Campus are in search for our next classroom hero as a Maths and Science Teacher on a Permanent Full-Time basis to support in our School based in Victoria Point, QLD.
About the role Teaching here at the Y allows you to work in a setting that values holistic development, community, and personal growth, which can be very fulfilling both professionally and personally.
What will my time look like? Delivering academic and wellbeing programs to students.Support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students.Support the Head of Campus/School in the operation of the campus to achieve educational, wellbeing and vocational objectives.Create a nurturing and supportive learning environment which is learner focused, safe, supportive and aligned to the curriculum.Collaborate with like-minded peers to plan, write and deliver structured lessons that differentiate and personalise the learning for each student.Assess and provide meaningful and supportive feedback and report on student learning.Supporting our incredible young people with a range of learning needs, including disabilities, behavioural disturbances, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, low levels of literacy/numeracy, and mental illness.Support our young people to know success!Am I a good match? Hold a relevant University degree, current Queensland College of Teachers Registration, First Aid Certificate and CPR Qualifications.Science and Math Teaching experience.Apply appropriate knowledge to plan and prepare teaching and learning programs to meet the diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of students who are at risk of disengaging from education.Knowledge to implement effective and inclusive teaching and learning processes, including the use of learning technology and assessment, to establish an appropriate learning environment in which students are encouraged to work toward their potential.Effectively communicate with students including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills and the ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment.What's in it for you?
