Salary: Teacher, $85,610 - $124,046 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)
This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 Lesmurdie Senior High School (LSHS) has an established reputation where all students are motivated to achieve excellence in their academic, sporting and cultural endeavours. Our students are friendly, confident and successful, and our teaching and support staff provide a distinctive, comprehensive education with strong academic and vocational pathways assisted by effective pastoral care programs.
LSHS has a Department of Education Western Australia (DOEWA) specialist program for gifted students, Lesmurdie Enrichment and Acceleration Program (LEAP), who have capabilities in maths and science. Engineering is offered to LEAP students, and the Digital literacy space aligns itself to these students' interests and passions. Our students are offered Robotics, Computer Programming, Computer animation and CGI both through an extensive curriculum and as extracurricular activities.
Lesmurdie SHS is seeking to appoint a passionate and innovative Design and Technology teacher who is responsive to change and can cater for the learning styles of future-ready students. The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to facilitate the development of independent and confident learners and be willing to join our team of like-minded professionals.
The successful applicant should possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to provide students with the highest quality Digital Technologies teaching and learning programs that are as diverse and varied as the needs of our students. You will ideally have a thorough understanding of instructional and curriculum design whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Learning Area and be well versed in the Western Australian Curriculum for Technologies. You should feel confident in your skills and abilities to encourage student passion and appreciation for digital technologies, by relating student learning to real-world situations and industry.
You should be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice and able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment, underpinning our core value of respect. You should work collaboratively with all members of the school and wider community to provide quality educational experiences through promoting the school's vision and strategic directions.
