We are seeking to establish a pool of Technologies Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies for the beginning of 2025 and which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Bob Hawke College in Subiaco opened in February 2020 to more than 250 Year 7 students and is the first high density public secondary college in Western Australia.

Our pastoral care approach has been specifically designed to support young adults. Specialist staff provide students with individual support as well as health and wellbeing programs. Bob Hawke College offers a diverse curriculum of traditional and contemporary courses alongside a strong set of College values which will provide the basis for students to become internationally-minded and able to contribute to global endeavours. A large arts footprint is visible on the campus including Media, Drama, Dance and College based selective programs in Music and in Visual Arts. A full suite of technologies is offered, including Design Technologies (Wood, Metal, Engineering and Design), Food and Textiles Studies, together with a significant emphasis on the Digital Technologies including Coding and Robotics. We also offer extra-curricular activities including Clubs, which involve before and after school scheduled activities allowing students to explore their passions and interests.
We are looking to recruit teachers from all contexts from both Design (Design and Home Economics) and Digital Technologies. It would be advantageous to have the ability to deliver Nationally Recognised Qualifications in both Engineering and Hospitality, however not essential. It would be ideal for applicants to have the capacity to teach from Year 7 through to Year 12, including Materials Design and Technology, Applied Information Technology and Computer Science.
As a member of our team, you will ideally be a conscientious, flexible and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole student. You will ideally be actively involved both within the school and wider community, highly reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation.
Applicants should be motivated, possessing the ability to teach secondary Design and Technology and will be knowledgeable of the Western Australian Curriculum. As a Design and Technology teacher, you will deliver a differentiated curriculum which meets the needs of all students and have an expectation that all students can reach their potential. You should be a teacher who aspires for academic excellence and is committed to high quality teaching and learning.
You will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school's values, ethos and priorities across the school community. You should build positive relationships with students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students.
