Position Information
Westfields Sports High School (1450 students, including 71 Aboriginal enrolments and 67% of the students from language backgrounds other than English) includes a special intake of talented sportspersons. The school is committed to providing each student with the educational opportunities and quality resources essential for the achievement of personal excellence in scholarship, citizenship, sport and the arts. The school values innovative curriculum programs, differentiated learning, the creative implementation of technology in teaching and learning as well as accelerated programs for talented students.
Westfields Sports is committed to providing each student with a supportive learning environment where they can achieve their best in all areas of their learning. In 2025 Westfields Sports will open a 3 class support unit catering for students with Autism.
Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Visual Arts (7-12), Photography and Visual Design.
Ability to work collaboratively within the CAPA faculty to develop effective and engaging teaching and learning programs for a diverse range of learners.
Evidence of effective classroom management to promote a supportive and positive learning environment.
Well developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
