This opportunity is full time until December 2025.
The Teacher - Community Services Programs provides high quality and innovative course materials and excellent teaching delivery to students, to:
support student success and thereby improve their employment and/or educational pathways
ensure BHI compliance requirements are met.
You will teach within the Operations Area of Community Services & Early Childhood Education Programs within the Faculty of Health, Community and Animals.
The position reports to the Course Coordinators and is responsible for liaising with students, relevant industry groups, community services providers, overseas partners and employees of BHI at all levels.
Community Services & Early Childhood Education Programs of the Faculty of Health, Community and Animals, are part of the Educational Delivery division, provides accredited programs at the certificate and diploma levels in the areas of community services, youth, disability, mental health, psychosocial disability, early childhood education and care and education support.
About You:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122)
Relevant industry qualifications and experience - currency in Family Violence, Counselling, Homelessness and Suicide management and prevention will be highly regarded
Sound understanding of learning theories, including adult learning theory and post-modernist theory and ability to apply these in various settings
Demonstrated ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards, including course materials, unit plans and assessment tools
Experience in student management systems for attendance tracking, retrieval of student details where required and resulting
Active listening and problem solving with a commitment to professional communications, excellent customer service and continuous improvement
Demonstrated high level awareness of, and responsiveness to, people from a broad range of diverse backgrounds and emotional contexts
Proven ability to understand and readily adapt to changing circumstances both within and outside of the classroom.
Demonstrated openness to new ideas and ability to positively respond
