Our School Geraldton Senior High School (SHS) is an inclusive, diverse, and vibrant, growing school of choice located in a coastal, connected community.
In 2019, the school transitioned to a Year 7 to 12 campus with additional year groups added to the school site.

The Role We are seeking to appoint a Career Practitioner, a specialist teacher who will support the career development of students.
The Career Practitioner will work with the school leadership team and embed career development and work exposure activities into curricular and co-curricular programs.
Career Practitioners should be innovators and have the ability to work collaboratively across the school.
They will implement programs and provide resources to embed career development across learning areas.
We are looking for a teacher who enjoys working with students to help them imagine and connect with their future career aspirations.
Confidence to make decisions and enact necessary curriculum reforms will be important.
Teachers in this specialist role should also be competent in the interpretation and analysis of system and school-based data.
To be successful for this role, a high level of knowledge about the diversity of career pathways, with an understanding of school contexts in relation to local employers, community agencies, and training providers, is desirable.
Career Practitioners should also have strong communication skills and be able to liaise with and share information easily with students, staff, parents, training providers, employers, and industry.
The successful applicant will need to work collaboratively and flexibly with the local TAFE, and experience in organising excursions is highly desirable.
If you don't hold a recognised Graduate Certificate in Career Development, you will be required to complete the qualification, which will be funded by the Department.
Time will be made available for the successful applicant to complete the qualification, and study will be incorporated into the role in the first 12 months.
