Yeronga State High School is currently seeking multiple Teacher Aide's for 2025.
As the Teacher Aide you will contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers, students and parents with learning activities and administrative duties in a supportive school environment. Teacher Aides will work collaboratively with teachers and other key staff to assist all students in classroom and in particular students with disabilities who require support with their academic and socio-emotional needs. In particular, this role will be supporting a high needs student with physical impairment which will also include toileting and helping with mobility around the school.

About the Role We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and reliable Teacher Aides to support all students and students with disabilities in our inclusive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
As a Teacher Aide, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized assistance to students with a variety of physical, emotional, and learning disabilities. Your role will be vital in ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities: Assist the teacher in planning and implementing lesson plans and classroom activities tailored to the needs of students with disabilities.Provide one-on-one and small group support to students to help them complete assignments and engage in learning activities.Support students with personal care needs, including mobility assistance, feeding, or other activities as required.Help students develop life skills, social skills, and self-regulation techniques to foster independence and confidence.Adapt classroom materials and activities to accommodate the learning needs of students with diverse disabilities.Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to the teacher to ensure effective interventions.Assist with the use of assistive technology and other tools to enhance learning.Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.Collaborate with other team members, including special education staff, therapists, and administrators.Ideal candidate will have following skills, qualifications and attributes: Previous experience working with children, particularly those with disabilities, is highly preferred.Understanding of various disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, etc.) and how they impact student learning and behavior.Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward working with children with special needs.Ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and needs.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
