The Rockhampton Grammar School is recruiting for an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher Aide to join RGS in a part-time capacity (30 hours per week, term-time) from Term 1, 2025.
This position will be working alongside a Primary Teacher to assist with Prep Students, where you will help to build a safe, welcoming, and educationally rich environment for all students to develop and achieve success.

POSITION TITLE: Teacher Aide (Prep)
DEPARTMENT: Primary
CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time, Term-Time (30 hours per week), Permanent
REPORTS TO: Head of Primary
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties of a Teacher Aide may include a mix of any of the following activities.
These activities are not exhaustive, and other relevant activities may be performed by teacher aides provided that such duties are appropriate having due regard to the nature, classification level and purpose of the position.
Clerical assistance duties including typing teachers' notes and work programmes, preparation of teaching materials and student resources, collation and duplication of assessment papers, and compiling student results records.
Assist in the supervision of educational activities (i.e., in Art, Physical Education, Cooking) under the direction of the teacher; including direct 1:1 and small group work with specific learning goals and tasks.
Assist in preparing, storing, making available and clearing away teaching equipment and materials.
Assist with playground duties, bus supervision, sporting activities, and School excursions.
Contribute to the welfare, health, and safety of students including the delivery of basic First Aid.
Support curriculum delivery and student participation as directed by the teacher.
General cooking duties including cutting fruit.
Library assistance duties including assisting students in locating books and supervising students in the library.
General technology tasks including taking photographs with iPad/digital camera and printing them as required.
Carrying out other reasonable non-professional duties at the discretion of the teacher and the Head of Primary.
SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
The School takes child protection seriously, and as a staff member or volunteer of The Rockhampton Grammar School, you are required to meet the behaviour standards outlined in our Practice and Behaviour Guidelines.

Report any suspicions, concerns, allegations or disclosures of alleged abuse to management.
Maintain valid "working with children" documentation.
Undergo periodic "national criminal history record" checks.
Report to management any criminal charges or convictions you receive during the course of your employment that may indicate a possible risk to children and young people.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
The successful applicant will be subject to a "Working with Children Check and Criminal Records Check" where applicable.
The School undertakes several screening processes to ensure the appropriate protection of children and young people in its care.
REQUIRED LICENCES/CERTIFICATES
Working with Children Check.
Police Check.
Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent previous work experience.
