Position Overview Details of the Division and Team: We are seeking a Java Developer to design, develop and deliver significant components of the Front Office Trading Platform (Rates and Credit) to satisfy changing and diverse business goals. The front office system for electronic trading of bond and derivative products, TradeGate is the single price source for electronically traded bonds with distribution to multiple different markets and exchanges.

Your key responsibilities: Defining complex business, process, usability and data requirements in partnership and collaboration with the users
Communications with stakeholders
Employ a range of techniques to analyze problems and evaluate multiple solutions against engineering, business & strategic criteria
Collaborate to achieve consensus on topics and issues
Identify and resolve barriers to business deliveries implementing solutions which iteratively deliver value
Design solutions using common design patterns with a range of design tools & techniques
Conduct peer reviews to ensure designs are fit for purpose, extensible & re-usable
Deliver end to end first-class engineering solutions across a range of technology platforms
Improve delivery standards, working practices, tools & solutions
Ensure stable and reliable production environments and high-quality service delivery to customers
Investigate production incidents & lead remediation, analyse services & components
Design & build solutions which are secure & controlled
Your skills and experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant development experience in Core Java
Experience designing and implementing high availability solutions and microservices.
Experience with multi-threading.
Hands-on experience with test driven development (TDD) and behavior driven development (BDD) including testing frameworks (Junit, Cucumber)
Experience in developing and running PL/SQL procedures and analyzing data from various perspectives.
Hands-on experience with Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, Maven
Hands-on experience with GCP or similar
Familiarity with Tradeweb, Bloomberg and Reuters financial systems
Analytical thinker experienced in a range of problem solving techniques & approaches
Team player who shares and collaborates, a keen listener and quick learner
Communicates clearly and influences using coherent, fact and benefit-based proposals
Familiar in the use of solution design tools
Good understanding of SDLC lifecycle
Experience working within an Agile development environment is desirable, but not essential.
Financial services experience especially in the Fixed Income & Derivatives product area highly desirable
Experience working with the brownfield systems is highly desirable
The candidate must demonstrate strong commercial aptitude / awareness and have an appreciation of the business drivers for technology
