Job Overview Jensen Hughes is seeking a Building Regulations Consultant with a specific focus on passive fire consulting to join our team of specialists in Australia. In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting our technical and administration teams. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting other passive fire consultants and directors in their duties as Building Regulations Consultants. This role involves a variety of tasks, from providing advice on Building Regulations to participating in negotiations with regulatory authorities.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals with a well-rounded background in construction industry, capable of being accredited as a Building Surveyor. You will develop your knowledge of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and related Australian Standards, while working under the supervision of Directors and Managers and adhering to the Company's Business Management System and ISO standards.

Responsibilities Providing advice on Building Regulations and Access provisions. Passive fire audits and appraisal of existing and new buildings. Assisting in project design and development compliance. Participating in negotiations with regulatory authorities. Conducting fire protection surveys and audits. Preparing certification and compliance reports. Appraisals and certification of "Essential Fire Safety Measures" Conducting site inspections and client meetings. Preparing fee proposals and liaising with clients. Delivering services within specified timeframes, cost, and quality. Requirements and Qualifications Post graduate qualification in 'Building Surveying' or a similar qualifications relating to the built environment. Relevant industry experience and knowledge of the performance requirements of the BCA. Familiar with the construction industry and capable of being accredited as a Building Surveyor (under the provisions of the NSW Department of Fair-Trading Registered Certifiers Accreditation Scheme). Have knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and Regulations, Home Building Act and Regulations and the Disability Discrimination Act and Regulations. Have a CPCCOHS1001A – work safety in the construction industry qualification (white card) or be prepared to undertake training. Able to write complex and detailed reports including BCA Assessment and audit reports. Expertise in Bluebeam (or similar) and BQE Core. Fluent in written and spoken English, able to negotiate with approval authorities on recommendations and proposals and capable of developing and maintaining a broad network of people within the industry. Current Class C Driver's License. Personal drive, results-orientated with a friendly, can-do attitude and a high level of honesty, integrity, commitment and responsibility.
