The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0.
This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history.
It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role To plan, organise, lead and control site operations for compliance with the construction programme ensuring consistency in terms of, and in order to, ensure safety, cost, time, quality, environmental, community targets are achieved.
Qualifications Mechanical Trade Background or Qualification White Card Driving License Experience Extensive experience in civil or tunnelling construction (5 years). Typically, 5+ years in a supervisory role. Minimum 5 years' experience working on TBM projects Experience in major infrastructure construction operations of similar scale. Proven ability to operate in a dynamic "live" environment meeting significant program challenges. Experience in Safety, Community and Environmental Management Experience in Quality Management, Planning & Resourcing Required Competencies In depth knowledge of TBMs, conveyors and associated tunnel related equipment Sound knowledge of local WHS standards and regulations Ability to drive performance, lead and manage teams Ability to work closely and collaboratively with safety and other departments to control and maintain project safety standards Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills Strong Initiative and proactive nature Key collaborative skills Knowledge of spare parts and consignment stock with the capacity to locate and manage parts Ability to perform fault finding and troubleshooting on equipment. Ability to read technical mechanical drawings and schematics to perform fault finding or trouble shoot equipment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Ability to coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to Well-developed time management skills Ability to work to deadlines and targets and can prioritise tasks under pressure Good organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail The ability to work well under pressure, quickly, effectively and positively in a dynamic and demanding environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exceptional knowledge and ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint Sound negotiation skills Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities Managing the daily mechanical running, operation and maintenance of the TBM and associated mechanical equipment Organising and planning work for future mechanical operations.
Managing planned maintenance for all mechanical equipment on site Performing material requisitions for project materials, spare parts and required project equipment. Liaising with Mechanical Manager for all TBM, conveyor and associated equipment assembly/ installation/dismantling, commissioning and testing works Carrying out daily plant inspections, complete and submit maintenance/ breakdown reports Liaising with TBM Electrical team for planning of ongoing and future works Supervising and providing support to Mechanics on shift in regards to trouble shooting and preventative maintenance Using initiative to find potential issues ahead of time with a strong capacity for problem solving Participating in the development of safe work method Statements, risk assessments and job hazard analysis for ongoing and future mechanical works Enforcing site safety at all times Inspecting and auditing the plant to ensure optimum performance is maintained in accordance with Australian Standards Inputting time records for direct reports using project software tools. Attending and performing daily prestart and toolbox meetings Learning project safety systems and fulfilling KPI inspections on a weekly basis.
