HOBAN is working with our client to find a Tax Manager.
Partner with Stakeholders, this full time role based in Mulgrave.
This role will focus on delivering U.S. tax reporting and local tax compliance across various Asia Pacific markets, while also supporting global tax initiatives and transfer pricing efforts.
You will play a crucial role in managing tax risk, ensuring timely and accurate filings, optimising resource management to meet budget targets, and aligning global standards with local regulations.
You will: Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, as well as U.S. tax reporting, for markets in the Asia Pacific and Middle East & Africa regions.
Plan and execute local tax compliance requirements, including preparation and review of tax returns, by effectively managing internal and external resources.
Collaborate with local finance teams and corporate tax staff to support tax audits.
Analyse financial and functional aspects to assess transfer pricing implications of related party transactions, ensuring compliance with local documentation requirements.
Provide tax guidance for operational issues and changes in operating models to local business teams.
Advise local finance heads and educate business partners on relevant tax legislation updates.
Prepare cash flow budgets and projections related to taxes to support financial analysis.
Collaborate with tax, finance, customs, treasury, legal, HR, and external advisors to ensure compliance and assess risk areas.
Identify potential tax issues, conduct research, and provide recommendations to mitigate and resolve them.
Foster a high-performance culture emphasizing customer focus, teamwork, and accountability.
We are looking for: Bachelor's degree in Law or Accounting, with CA or CPA certification; a Master's in Tax or Finance is preferred.
Minimum of four years of experience in a multinational corporate tax environment, including tax compliance and reporting in at least one jurisdiction, with a solid understanding of tax effect accounting.
Proven ability to build strong working relationships across diverse cultures and remote teams.
Experience in global or regional roles, with an understanding of cultural diversity.
Strong knowledge of accounting provisions, principles, and financial statement disclosure requirements; familiarity with U.S. GAAP is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills; experience with advanced tax technology tools is desirable.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
Ability to shift between big-picture thinking and managing detailed tasks seamlessly.
