Tax Manager – FinTech The Tax Manager supports the Group Head of Tax in managing all the direct and indirect tax matters of the group across Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
This includes income tax, transfer pricing, R&D tax incentive, GST or VAT, FBT, stamp duty, and payroll tax.
You will have the opportunity to be involved with M&A and cross-border transactions.
This is also a continuity role where there will be opportunities for advancement and promotion as we are looking for someone who can step-up in the future to fill in for the Head of Tax who may be on other projects.
Key Responsibilities of the role: Preparing current and deferred tax calculations for statutory reporting purposes; Preparing and completing all relevant tax compliance and reporting obligations of the group such as periodic activity statements, GST and VAT returns, payroll tax returns, and annual income tax and FBT returns; Supporting the finance team with all relevant month-end processes including preparing and/or reviewing tax journals and reconciling various tax accounts in the general ledger; Involvement in Tax transactions both within Australia and cross-border; Coordinating and forecasting various tax payments for the group; Supporting the Group Head of Tax in providing tax advice to the business; Partnering with the broader finance team to review, advise and streamline systems and processes; Automation and GST transformation work to assist with streamlining GST systems and processes. The ideal candidate:You are analytical and curious, and put that to use by driving great customer experiences and profitable growth for the business.

We're also looking for someone who brings: Professional tax experience from Big 4, Top-tier Accounting Firm and/or ASX-listed commercial environment particularly in the financial services space. Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of corporate tax, tax reporting, and tax effect accounting. Strong attention to detail. Tertiary qualifications in finance/tax related discipline. CA/CPA/Masters of Tax or equivalent. Data focus with a mindset to constantly improve processes. Experience in IT systems and process improvement. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
