The Opportunity: An exciting opportunity has become available for an organised and meticulous individual to join our team as a Tax & Capital Accountant.
Reporting to the Kleenheat Accounting Lead, you will be able to utilise your taxation expertise and capital accounting skills and experience to support the businesses.
Key Responsibilities: Overseeing all aspects of the taxation compliance for the Kleenheat and minerals businesses and its entities including but not limited to annual income taxation returns, FBT, GST/BAS and monthly tax effect accounting and journal entries.Overseeing all aspects of capital administration and reporting including but not limited to review and process expenditure authorisation requests, asset disposals and transfers and maintenance of fixed asset registers (accounting and tax).Preparation of quarterly ABS capital surveys.Provide taxation expertise and advice for various stakeholders and the management team.Responding to all general expenditure queries regarding appropriate accounting treatment regarding operating and capital expenditure.Liaise with Wesfarmers Group Tax on various taxation matters, where required.Review and develop systems and procedures to maximise productivity and foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer service.Please note: Our Murdoch office will be relocating to Perth CBD in late 2025.
About You: You are an experienced finance professional with an ability to see the 'big picture' by keeping abreast of the latest trends within taxation law and compliance, without losing sight of the key details.
In addition, you will have:
Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline and a Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, CPA Australia, The Tax Institute or equivalent.Minimum 5 years' relevant tax experience in a commercial corporate environment or a "Big 4" or mid-tier accounting firm.Experience in the mining industry is highly desirable.An analytical mindset with the capability to problem solve, identify trends, and proactively address upcoming issues and opportunities.Strong Australian taxation knowledge and tax research skills.A continuous improvement and innovation mindset.Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.The ability to build relationships with various stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.The ability to prioritise and work independently to meet business objectives and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Solid systems experience e.g.
Oracle, TM1 and SAP.
