We are now looking for a Tax Accountant to join our growing Australian team! Main assignments The Tax Accounting team is responsible for preparing and filing all tax-related obligations for Sleek's clients in Australia, including companies, individuals, and trusts. This team plays a critical role in guiding our clients through their accounting journey and actively engages with them during the preparation of their tax returns. Scope of work Preparation of Financial Statements and Tax Returns: Prepare accurate financial statements and tax returns for a range of entity types, including sole traders, companies, partnerships, and trusts. Regulatory Submissions: Handle regulatory submissions such as Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR), and other ad-hoc compliance obligations. Regulatory Knowledge and Compliance: Stay updated on financial and taxation regulations and legislation to ensure compliance in all aspects of accounting and taxation services. Client Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with clients to provide updates, clarify requirements, and address queries. Timely Lodgement: Ensure the on-time lodgement of tax returns, regulatory submissions, and other compliance documents to meet deadlines and avoid penalties. Ad-hoc Duties: Perform other accounting and tax-related tasks as assigned by management, including support for audits or advisory services. Technology Proficiency: Use relevant accounting and tax software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or ATO online services) effectively to streamline processes and maintain accuracy. Attention to Detail: Maintain high attention to detail in all deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian taxation standards. Minimum Requirements: Educational Background: A degree in Accounting or a related field. Taxation Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with Australian tax , including the preparation of tax returns for sole traders, companies, partnerships, and trusts (Profiles without experience will not be considered). Software Proficiency: Certified Xero user with strong expertise in its functionality. Experience using additional software such as Dext and Fathom is highly desirable. Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented. Positive attitude with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively engage with clients and team members. Deadline Management: Capable of meeting tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality of work.
